Assessment of the Integration and Challenges of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTS) in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria

Introduction Given the importance of tertiary education, many nations around the world have come to embrace itfor optimal development.According to Idumange and Nwaeke (2011), through university education, the citizens of a nation acquire high levelskillsin varioussectorslike health, education, and engineering In pursuance of this, there is need for both students and staffs of higher institutions to have a good grasp of Information and Communication Technologies(ICT).ICTsmust be integrated into every aspect of higher education in order st to produce students who are ICT literate and can easily adapt in the 21 century where technology permeates every sphere oflife.Bingimlas(2009), inOwino (2009) affirmsthat the utilization of ICTs in teaching is a more effective way of preparing for the globalising job market.
