B. Abstract And Paper Submission

B1. Can I submit a paper for presentation?

Yes. The conference welcomes empirical research, policy analyses, theoretical and conceptual papers, reviews, case studies and practice-based innovations that relate to the theme or sub-themes.

B2. What is the maximum length of an abstract?

Abstracts should not exceed 250 words.

B3. What information should my abstract contain?

A professionally prepared abstract should contain:

  • Paper title
  • Author name(s)
  • Institutional affiliation(s)
  • Corresponding author’s email address
  • Brief background/problem
  • Purpose or objective of the study
  • Methodology, where applicable
  • Major findings or expected findings
  • Conclusion/implications
  • Appropriate keywords

For empirical studies, the research methods and key findings should be clearly stated. For conceptual, theoretical or practice-based papers, authors should state the central issue, argument or innovation and its implications.

The abstract text itself should not exceed 250 words.

B4. Where should abstracts be submitted?

Abstracts and conference paper-related correspondence should be sent to:

modupeosokoya@yahoo.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">modupeosokoya@yahoo.com

sundaydom2000@yahoo.co.nz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sundaydom2000@yahoo.co.nz

abiodunisaacagunbiade@gmail.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">abiodunisaacagunbiade@gmail.com

Authors should use a clear email subject, for example: “9th IoE Conference Abstract – Surname – Short Paper Title”.

B5. What is the final deadline for abstract submission?

The extended deadline is Saturday, 5 October 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Authors are strongly encouraged not to wait until the final hours before submission.

B6. Can I submit an abstract after the earlier stated deadline?

No abstract should be submitted after 11:59 p.m. on 5 October 2026. Local Organising Committee may be contacted for clarification.

B7. When will authors receive notification of acceptance?

Notification of abstract acceptance will begin on 6 October 2026.

Authors should monitor their email closely because the period between abstract acceptance and the full-paper deadline is short. Where revisions are requested, authors should respond promptly.

The Local Organising Committee may communicate the final notification date separately.

B8. What is the deadline for submission of the full paper?

The deadline for submission of full papers is 15 October 2026.

B9. What format should the full paper follow?

Full papers should follow the conventional structure expected of manuscripts submitted to reputable scholarly journals.

A typical empirical paper should contain: Title → Authors and Affiliations → Abstract → Keywords → Introduction → Literature Review/Theoretical or Conceptual Framework where applicable → Methodology → Results/Findings → Discussion → Conclusion → Recommendations/Implications → References.

Tables and figures should be appropriately numbered, labelled and referred to in the text.

Because quality papers from the conference may subsequently be considered for the West African Journal of Education (WAJE), authors should be prepared to revise their manuscripts to conform to the current WAJE author guidelines. The WAJE guidance currently available on the Institute website requires a clear scholarly structure, originality and ethical compliance and describes Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendations among the expected sections.

Authors should follow the APA referencing style specified in the current journal/conference guideline and ensure that every source cited in the text appears in the reference list.

B10. Can a paper have more than one author?

Yes. Collaborative and multidisciplinary authorship is welcome.

Multiple authorship is particularly appropriate where researchers have made substantive contributions to the conceptualisation, methodology, analysis, writing or interpretation of the study.

However, authorship should reflect genuine scholarly contribution. Names should not simply be added for non-scholarly reasons.

B11. Can students submit papers?

Yes.  Students are strongly encouraged to submit quality papers.

Conference participation provides postgraduate researchers with opportunities to:

  • Present developing or completed research
  • Receive scholarly feedback
  • Improve academic communication skills
  • Interact with experienced researchers
  • Develop professional networks
  • Gain exposure to current debates in education and AI

Student registration rates are also provided as part of the conference arrangements.

B12. Can I participate without presenting a paper?

Yes. Participants are welcome to participate without presenting papers. Conference participation is valuable beyond paper presentation because delegates can attend keynote and lead-paper sessions, workshops, scholarly discussions and networking activities.

B13. How long will each oral presentation last?

Each paper presenter should prepare a professional PowerPoint presentation designed for approximately 10 minutes.

The PowerPoint should not be a Word document transferred onto slides. Presenters should communicate the core message visually and concisely.

A strong presentation will normally contain approximately 6–10 focused slides, covering: Title → Problem/Context → Purpose/Research Questions → Methodology → Key Findings → Interpretation → Conclusion/Recommendations.

Use readable fonts, brief bullet points, charts/tables where they clarify results and minimal text. Presenters should rehearse beforehand and ensure that the presentation can be completed comfortably within the allotted period. Avoid reading paragraphs directly from the slides.

Presenters who need assistance may consult someone experienced in academic presentation design before the conference.

  • From Curriculum to Creativity: Transforming Ideas into Practice
D3. Do I have to attend the workshops?

Workshop attendance is not compulsory for conference participation, but participants are strongly encouraged to attend.

The workshops are designed as professional-development opportunities that move beyond theoretical discussion into practical learning.

Participation can help delegates:

  • Acquire new methodological and professional skills
  • Gain practical exposure to tools and procedures
  • Interact directly with experienced facilitators
  • Ask practice-focused questions
  • Strengthen competencies that can be applied after the conference
D4. Can I attend only the workshops without registering for the main conference?

Yes. Participants may register for the workshop component only.

However, where circumstances permit, participants are encouraged to take part in the broader conference because the keynote, lead-paper presentations, research sessions and professional networking complement the hands-on workshop experience.

Combining the workshops with the main conference therefore provides a more comprehensive professional-development experience.

D5. Do I need to register separately for individual workshops?

No. One workshop registration grants access to all the advertised workshop sessions.

Participants should nevertheless follow any timetable or room allocation issued by the organising committee.

E. Virtual Participation

E1. Is virtual participation available?

Yes. The conference provides a virtual-participation option at the approved rate stated in the registration information.

  • Install/update Zoom before the conference
  • Test their microphone and speakers/headset
  • Join from a quiet environment
  • Keep microphones muted when not speaking
  • Use the participant’s name supplied during registration
  • Join sessions several minutes early

Virtual presenters should join their designated session early and remain available when called by the session chair.

E4. Will virtual participants receive access links before the conference?

Yes. Confirmed virtual participants will receive the Zoom access information before the relevant conference sessions.

Participants should therefore provide an active email address and WhatsApp-enabled telephone number during registration and check their messages regularly.

E5. Will virtual participants receive conference materials and certificates?

Virtual participants will receive an appropriate electronic certificate, subject to registration and participation verification.

In line with good hybrid-conference practice, relevant digital resources such as the programme, proceedings and presentation materials authorised for distribution would be made available electronically.

Virtual participants can request for conference materials at  a specified cost..

F. Certificates, Abstract Proceedings And Publication

F1. Will participants receive certificates?

Yes. Registered participants who satisfy the applicable participation requirements will receive certificates.

Physical participants will receive printed certificates, while virtual participants will receive electronic certificates.

Participants should ensure that their names are entered correctly during registration, because these details may be used for certificate preparation.

F2. Will presenters receive separate certificates for every author?

Each accepted paper will ordinarily attract one presentation certificate in the name of the first author.

Where co-authors require individual certificates, additional certificates will be issued upon payment of the #10,000 additional certificate fee.

Authors requesting additional certificates should submit the names exactly as they should appear on the certificates.

F3. Will accepted abstracts be published?

Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference programme/proceedings, creating a formal record of the scholarly contributions presented during the conference.

F4. Will full papers be published in conference proceedings or a journal?

Quality conference papers will be considered for publication in the West African Journal of Education (WAJE).

Publication is not automatic.

Authors whose papers proceed to journal consideration will pay the applicable assessment fee, and only manuscripts that satisfy the journal’s scholarly and editorial standards will be published.

F5. Will papers undergo peer review?

Yes. Papers considered for WAJE publication will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.

The publicly available WAJE editorial policy describes initial editorial screening followed by rigorous blind review by a minimum of two reviewers, with revision where necessary before acceptance.

Acceptance of a conference abstract or conference presentation therefore does not automatically constitute acceptance for journal publication.

F6. Will published articles be available online?

Yes. Published articles will be made available online in alignment with contemporary scholarly communication practices.

Online availability is intended to:

  • Increase researchers’ visibility
  • Improve accessibility of Institute research
  • Facilitate academic discovery and citation
  • Strengthen the dissemination of Nigerian educational scholarship
  • Enhance the international visibility of authors and the Institute

Authors should therefore ensure that their manuscripts and author information are accurate before publication.

G. Accommodation, Transportation And Travel

Participants staying in the same hotel may also coordinate shared transportation where appropriate.

If the LOC arranges any shuttle or group transport, the schedule and collection points will be communicated through the official conference channels.

No. Conference registration is individual and ordinarily non-transferable.

Registration records will be linked to payment confirmation, participant details, certificates, presentation information and conference materials.
